Craft Your Year with New Ashgate Gallery
Craft Your Year 2026 Brings Free Creative Workshops to Farnham
New Ashgate Gallery has been inviting residents and visitors to get creative throughout 2026 with Craft Your Year, a free programme of hands-on craft workshops taking place at events across Farnham.
Delivered through Farnham’s major civic and seasonal events, the programme offers opportunities for people of all ages to explore a wide range of craft disciplines through drop-in activities led by professional makers. From textiles, glass and clay to weaving, printmaking and calligraphy, participants can discover new skills and experience the joy of making.
The programme also celebrates traditional and heritage crafts, including several skills featured on the Heritage Crafts Red List, such as stained-glass window making, hurdle making, rush matting and corn dolly making. By bringing these crafts into public spaces, Craft Your Year helps keep important traditions alive while making high-quality craft experiences accessible to everyone.
As part of the programme, New Ashgate Gallery will also be delivering a workshop during October Craft Month 2026, Farnham’s annual celebration of craft organised by Farnham Craft Town.
Organised by New Ashgate Gallery in partnership with Farnham Town Council and supported by South Street Trust, Craft Your Year 2026 will help bring creativity, learning and community participation to audiences throughout the year.
